Personal Motivation

I’ve been fortunate to grow up supported in pursuing my interests in STEM, with early exposure to tinkering that has shaped my mindset as a future engineer. Unfortunately, this isn’t the reality for most girls, especially the ones in my community. This realization is what drove me to found the SWENext chapter at my school.

Lessons on Leadership

Leadership isn’t about doing everything alone but about building systems that outlast you. I realized that structure and inclusion go hand in hand: assigning roles based on strengths transformed passive members into active contributors. Listening one-on-one taught me how small check-ins can rekindle motivation. Most of all, I learned that sustainable leadership means trusting others enough to let them lead too.

Achievements

This chapter is a testament of resilience. Born during a time of uncertainty, with school closure and war, it is not only the first of IC, but the first in the Middle East. I see this absence as a reminder of the stereotypes surrounding women in engineering that are dominant in the entire world, but even more strongly in our region. Despite this, our community is growing continuously and we are always welcoming new members.
